By Car
Shropshire connects to the M6 and motorway network via the M54. The A49, A5, A53, A458 all make Shropshire easily accessible. Click here to use AA route finder to plan your journey.

By Rail
The Shropshire Hills are easily accessed by rail from the North West, Midlands and the rest of the UK.  A new daily train service from London Marylebone to Shrewsbury began in April 2008 and more details can be found at wrexhamandshropshire.co.uk.   At Shrewsbury you can connect with services on the Marches Line which has stations at Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Ludlow with frequent services between Manchester/Holyhead and Cardiff.

The Heart of Wales scenic line branches off the Marches line at Craven Arms and runs through beautiful Shropshire Hills countryside with stations at Broome, Hopton Heath, Bucknell and Knighton (for the Offa's Dyke Centre). Trains operate between Shrewsbury and Swansea.  The Heart of Wales Line website is a useful source of trip ideas, events and train times.

By Bus

Local bus routes include Shrewsbury to Bishop's Castle (552 and 553 service), Shrewsbury to Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Ludlow (435 service), and Ludlow to Cleobury Mortimer and Kidderminster (292 service).

By Coach

By Air
The nearest airports to Shropshire are located in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester and are all approximately an hour away. Birmingham and Manchester airports connect ot a mainline rail network.
